This exemplary Shirvan handmade piece was created in the region of Azerbaijan directly southeastern of Caucasus.
Shirvans pieces are found in smaller sizes, mainly from the southern part of the area around the town of Saliani and are more likely to be in the long, narrow format described in the West as runners.
Typically, Shirvan rugs are not necessarily linked to a certain village as they share a range of geometric field designs and borders.
